2006年获得中南大学微生物学硕士学位，2010年获得中南大学生物工程博士学位。2014年获教育部留学基金委资助赴美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校做访问学者，2015年中南大学冶金学院博士后工作站出站，2020-2022年挂职安乡县科技副县长。主持湖南省精品课程1门，主持省级教改课题3项，发表教改论文10余篇，出版教材2部。主持国家自科基金、博士后基金等省部级以上项目15项，发表SCI论文40余篇，3项专利获授权。
